In addition to size and weight, the center of gravity, support points, lugs, fastening pattern, the ability of the package to withstand transport loads and the unloading sequence at the final site are taken into account.
Route audit is not only about the distance on the map. Site exits, turning radii, road widths, bridges and tunnels, lines and other overhead obstacles, pavement, permissible driving hours, boundaries, port and terminal capabilities, and entry to the final address are checked. Without actual inspection and official approval, the suitability of the path cannot be guaranteed.
Several transport and lifting parties may be involved in project transportation. For each transhipment, responsibilities, equipment, acceptance criteria, photographic and documentary evidence, weather restrictions and the decision maker are determined in advance. Additional overload affects not only cost and time, but also physical risk, so it must have an operational justification.
Requirements for permits, escort, special trailer and cranes vary by country, road, load and date of operation. The site does not promise a specific permit, availability of any route, or a fixed delivery date. The commercial and technical plan is confirmed after receiving documents, responses from competent parties and current operational information.
Prepare a heavy or oversized cargo enquiry
Heavy and oversized describe different constraints. Cargo can be heavy within standard dimensions, or relatively light but too large. Provide packed dimensions, individual weights, photographs and technical drawings. Identify detachable parts for a separate transport-configuration review.
A project cargo quote may include route checks, permit coordination, lifting, securing and site unloading alongside transport. Vehicle arrival and installation-team readiness are separate milestones. State the receiving window and who is responsible for unloading.
Engineering data package
Technical drawing, dimensions and weight, center of gravity, lifting and support points, packaging diagram and photographs are stored in a single package. The version and source of measurements are indicated so that the trailer, crane and route are not selected using outdated numbers.
Path audit and permissions
The primary and backup paths are tested against technical limitations and official procedures. Documents for the application, the procedure for consideration and possible conditions are clarified with a competent source; the issuance of a permit is not presented as a result that is guaranteed by the logistics page.
Trailer, crane and mount
The height and load capacity of the platform, axle loads, crane radius, rigging and fastening calculations are consistent with each other. The rated lifting capacity is not enough: the operating configuration of the equipment and the actual site conditions are confirmed.
Sequence and escalation
Checkpoints are set for loading, exit, road, border, transshipment, customs, last mile and unloading. If the weather, road accessibility, permit conditions, or site readiness change, the person responsible, the composition of the message, and the procedure for approving an alternative are predetermined.
