Air freight provides a flexible solution for time-sensitive, high-value and production-critical cargo. Vega Sirius coordinates the route, airline capabilities, packaging, terminal procedures and final delivery.
Speed and route selection
Direct and transit flights are compared based on price, frequency, terminal handling time and last mile. The fastest option is not always optimal: cost and time are balanced according to the priority of the cargo.
Weight and packaging
The tariff is calculated by comparing actual and volumetric weight. Dimensions, palletizing, stackability and dangerous goods status will be confirmed prior to booking. The packaging must withstand flight and terminal handling.
Special cargo
Temperature sensitive, fragile, valuable and restricted cargo may require additional procedures. Pre-checking documents and reception conditions reduces the risk of waiting at the airport.

When air freight is the right choice
Air freight is chosen for line-stopping spare parts, electronics, medical and pharmaceutical products, samples, high-value and time-critical cargo. Shipments to Baku are handled mainly through the cargo terminal of Heydar Aliyev International Airport; the origin airport and direct or transit routing are compared by dimensions, priority and budget. What the service includes
- Pickup from the shipper, packaging and palletisation checks;
- airline and routing selection, space booking, Air Waybill (AWB) and accompanying documents;
- coordination of export formalities, terminal acceptance and security screening;
- import clearance in Baku, terminal collection and delivery to the final address;
- advance checks for dangerous goods (DGR), lithium batteries and temperature requirements.
Volumetric and chargeable weight
Air rates apply to the greater of actual and volumetric weight. Under the common rule volumetric weight equals length × width × height (cm) / 6000; some airlines and express operators use a different divisor. What drives the price
Origin and destination airports, direct or transit routing, chargeable weight, cargo category (general, dangerous, cold chain), terminal and handling fees, fuel and security surcharges, documentation and customs, pickup and delivery distance, seasonal capacity and insurance needs all shape the rate. A proposal is issued once dimensions and weights are confirmed.
