Choose a full truck or a shared load
FTL gives your shipment a dedicated truck. LTL shares space with other suitable goods. LTL may suit a smaller batch, but consolidation and extra handling can affect the delivery plan. Neither option has a fixed price based only on weight.

What affects the freight price?
Ask for a quote with the same start and end points for each option. A terminal-to-terminal price is different from delivery to your warehouse. Check which items the offer includes:
- Collection from each supplier and local loading costs.
- Main road transport and any agreed transit costs.
- Handling, storage or waiting charges, where applicable.
- Customs support and delivery to the final address.
The final cost depends on the route, vehicle, cargo and services requested. Dates also depend on collection readiness, border checks and the receiving warehouse. Confirm the price and schedule for your shipment before booking.
Prepare a request for Germany, Italy or Poland
Country names alone are not enough for a useful comparison. Gather these details before asking for a quote.

For several suppliers, list each address and ready date separately. A late batch can delay a combined shipment. Ask whether separate collection or dispatch would help meet your deadline.
Check documents before collection

FTL and LTL planning
FTL provides a single vehicle and fewer consolidation steps, LTL consolidates a small lot with compatible loads. The decision depends not only on volume, but also on urgency, fragility, additional processing, fence flexibility and total door-to-door cost.
Collection and consolidation
The supplier's address and hours, loading facilities, availability of export documents and suitable consolidation point are checked. With several suppliers, the consolidation of batches according to documents and transfer schedule is planned as a separate operational task.
CMR and sales documents
CMR, invoice, packing list, origin and product certificates must match each other. The description is not limited to general words and contains sufficient technical data for classification and verification of permits.
Transit and backup route
Together with the main path, the legally and operationally permissible reserve is assessed. Boundaries and restrictions are re-checked on the date of transport. When changing the route, the impact on documents, costs and acceptance is explained in advance.
Customs and acceptance readiness
Before arrival, information about the importer, broker, product classification, possible certificates and permits are prepared. The entry of the vehicle, the unloading technique and the hours of the final address are confirmed so that the stage after customs does not create a separate delay.
Cost and risks
In addition to freight, collection, consolidation, terminal, additional address, document correction, insurance, transit and customs operations, waiting and last mile are possible. Items that do not apply are not added and risks are explained in written terms.
Check offer door to door
The proposal checks the collection address, consolidation model, primary and backup transit, customs responsibility, final address, included services, exclusions, currency and validity period. For variable expenses, the basis, supporting document, notification and approval procedure are described in advance. If the address, volume, date, product or Incoterms change, the route and calculation must be updated and not automatically transferred to the new shipment.
Transit countries and routing options
Road cargo from the EU to Azerbaijan usually travels via Bulgaria or Romania into Türkiye and then transits Georgia; where conditions allow, the Poland–Belarus–Russia routing is also assessed. The route is chosen per request based on transit-country requirements, border congestion, TIR or T1 transit documents, driver regulations and cargo characteristics.
What affects transit time
