Customs Brokerage Services

Pre-check

Import and export procedures

The procedure is coordinated according to the purpose of the transaction, countries of origin and destination, status of goods and documents. Temporary import, transit and goods with permits may require a separate approach.

Reduce the risk of delays

A missing document, incorrect data or classification may cause a query and a wait. Preparation before transportation helps maintain logistics schedule.

The final customs decisions are made by the authorized body; The service provides professional support for documents and coordination.

How customs clearance works in Azerbaijan

Import and export declarations are filed through the electronic systems of the State Customs Committee; goods are classified by HS code, the customs value is determined and duty, VAT (standard rate 18%) and other applicable charges are calculated. Duty rates vary by product group (many groups fall within 0–15%), and some goods require licences, certificates or permits. The final rate and requirements are determined only by the specific code and procedure. For document preparation see the import document checklist.

What the service includes

  • Consistency checks of the invoice, packing list, contract, transport document and certificate of origin;
  • preliminary HS classification and identification of required permits, certificates and licences;
  • selection and coordination of import, export, transit, temporary admission and re-export procedures;
  • preparation of the electronic declaration, customs value and payment calculations;
  • support during inspection, document corrections and coordination with delivery after release.

The most common causes of delay

Mismatches between invoice and packing list, incomplete product descriptions, wrong or disputed HS codes, a missing origin document, late certificates and an unsupported customs value are the main factors that prolong clearance. That is why documents are checked before the cargo departs and missing data is requested from the supplier in advance.

What drives the price

Brokerage fees depend on the number of tariff lines in the declaration, the type of procedure, the volume of permits and certificates required, document corrections and urgency. Customs duty, VAT and other state payments are not part of the service fee and are calculated separately.
