Defining Requirements
Before transportation, the range, permissible deviation, measurement frequency and actions in a critical situation are set.
Packaging and transport
Active cooling, passive thermal packaging or refrigeration are selected based on timing and sensitivity. The time the package is opened during preparation and loading is taken into account.
Data logger placement
The number and location of sensors are planned based on the size of the load, air circulation and risks. Calibration and device identification are saved.
Transitional stages
Terminal, customs inspection and transport changes increase the risk. A reception and transfer procedure is being prepared for them.
Transfer and report
Upon delivery, the condition of the cargo, temperature records and deviations are recorded. Logs are needed to improve the process and investigate controversial situations.
Incorporate temperature data into your operational plan
The logger itself does not create a continuous cold chain. Its type, quantity, location, recording period, order of reading and action in case of deviation must be part of one procedure. If an aviation scheme is being considered, check in advance the packaging, autonomy, terminal waiting and acceptance rules within air transportation. Responsible for each transfer, reserve in case of delay and temperature proof format are agreed upon before dispatch.
